Responsibilities

S&A has an immediate opening for a part-time Industrial/Organizational Psychology Intern located in Chicago, Illinois.  The successful intern will spend 16 to 24 hours per week assisting Consultants with their activities related to the development, implementation and validation of promotional and entry-level written examinations (cognitive and non-cognitive), structured interviews, assessment centers and physical ability exams for public safety agencies (police departments, fire departments, correctional facilities and 911 emergency dispatch centers), and collecting job analysis data to serve as the basis for the assessments.

Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. in a social sciences field, or an M.A. or M.S. in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology
  • Ability to use MS Office (Word and Excel) and SPSS
  • Conscientious attention to detail in an environment where accuracy is of paramount importance
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to proofread and print documents required for Consultants’ projects
  • Ability to accurately enter data for analysis
  • Ability to analyze candidate applications for minimum qualifications
  • Ability to proofread test content and technical reports
  • Familiarity with job analysis procedures, test development procedures, and statistics
  • Familiarity with SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) for the purpose of calculating descriptive statistics (e.g., means, standard deviations, frequency distributions) and inferential statistics (e.g., correlation, t-test, ANOVA, regression, chi-square)
  • In the future, the ability to represent the firm in a professional manner in all client interactions, including face-to-face meetings, phone and email correspondence is of utmost importance
